helping motch labor

Tad and Fig came to see me today. While Hannah was taking a nap with Tad on her lap and Motch was reading the paper, Fig and I were bored and found something to do.
I really didn't want to destuff my bed because I sleep in it alot, but Fig talked me into it.

Did you notice that I'm not wearing a collar today? I got bit by some kind of bug in the bushes, and my neck is pretty red and sore, so Motch put some benedryl topical gel on my neck and took off my collar. I feel kind of naked.
Anyway, Fig and I got caught before the bed was completely destroyed, and look ~~~ I can still get inside of it.
Motch put down the paper and pulled out her needle and thread. Besides the bed, she got to sew together my loofa and the new racoon that Stella gave me. She sure muttered and complained as she did her work. She's no seamstress, so I wonder how long her stitches will hold...

I hope you're all having fun this labor day weekend, too!

slipping, sliding, chewing

Decisions, decisions. Which would it be, the wubba or the ball?

The squeaker ball!

Settling down for a good lick and chew is the best way to end the day!

birthday surprise!

Oh my goodness, yesterday was a very good day! Motch came home from work and brought in the mail. Guess what she had in her hand? Something for ME, Miss Petra Pie!

It was a belated birthday gift from Stella Bean of Gooberstan! Wooooooooo!
video
Let me tell you, the bright green package looked good enough to eat.
In addition to being a brave hunter, Stella is also very smart. She typed me a note, and even put a big red kiss on it! AND, she sent me a magnet of sweet Stanley, too. video
It was hard to decide what to play with first: the raccoon, the squeaker ball, the wubba or the pork chew.

And then, something else caught my eye.
I wondered what was in such a pretty package. And found it was a new cherry blossom collar! Isn't it quite the fashion accessory for me?
I spent the rest of the day running and chewing and playing, but I'll save those pictures for tomorrow.
Thank you, my Sweet Stella Bean Fren! You made me so happy today!

aboard aire ruby

What a day! I talked Motch into helping me stand on the mailbox so Ruby was sure to find me.
She was right on time, and away we went for the anniversary celebration. Except for the need for some dramamine which Asta provided, it was a great trip. Take a look at the blogs of Ruby Bleu and Asta to see the fun things we did.

I'm going to keep this souvenir forever as a reminder of the great time I had with my dog-bloggin friends. Happy Air Ruby 1 Year Cel-blogation!

waiting for Ruby

No time to pose for pictures today.
I'm waiting for Ruby.
Yeah, yeah, I know she isn't coming until tomorrow, but I just don't want to miss her.

goof ball fun

My friend Pearl sent me this package of goof balls for my birthday, and they are like double-the-pleasure, double-the-fun.
It starts out like a little ball that rolls around.

And ends up like this. Yum!

missing you

This is how I feel. Lousy. You know why?

The first day of classes was today where Motch works, which means she has been really busy helping students with their various needs. She is too busy to help me read your blogs, and I miss you. I made her post this so you know that I'm thinking of you and will come to visit you just as soon as I can.

no olympics for tad

I was upstairs enjoying the boy's dirty socks and used kleenex when I heard some conversation in the living room that stopped me dead in my tracks.
It was about Tadpole , and his decision to withdraw his offer of assistance to the U.S. Olympic Swim Team. WHAT?
His mind was set. I tried to reason with him and explain that his chest hair would grow back if it were shaved, just like his mullet did, but he wouldn't listen.
I was shocked, but Fig ~~ for whatever reason ~~ thought it was hilarious.

olympics

Have you guys been watching the Olympics? We have, and so I've been getting to bed later than usual. MUCH later than usual, as a matter of fact.I find myself falling asleep throughout the day. It's just so hard to stay awake, but I can't miss any event. I'm glued to the swimming competition, because Tadpole might be making his appearance any day now.

Bring home the gold, Tadgold!

walks are the best

I just love walks! Each night I get to go on one, and this is what happens before we leave.
I jump on the bench and whine and bark at the leash that you can see hanging here.
video
Next, I have to go through the torture of being tied to the leash. Is resisting being told what to do descriptive of a Boston Terrier?
Finally, at last, it's time to leave the house. I LOVE to walk and run and zoom in all directions.
We live close to a golf course, so I have to keep my eyes open for flying balls. I like walks even better than wallymelon; can you believe that?!

picky petrified p

About the noise from the boy's room that scared me so much the other morning, I would like to say that it was an explosion or a fire alarm or him falling out of bed or something, but I have to be honest and tell it to you straight. It was his alarm clock going off.

Now that may not sound scary to you, but let me assure you, it was a petrifying experience for Petra the faint-of-heart.

Thanks to Lorenza , who gave me this award! Maybe it should be "one of a kind" blogger award because I'm a kind of weird ~~ I mean, unique ~~ Boston. And now I'd like to pass it on to Suki Sumo!
This is where I like to eat my food. I'm usually not hungry in the morning, due to the fact that I get fed dry, boring stuff, but when Fig and Tad come to see me, I've learned to immediately eat my food. If I don't, they will. So when they come over, my food gets picked up from the floor and put on the counter. Then I get picked up and put on the counter to eat. I'd like to thank Hannah, who started this tradition. It makes the dining experience much more tolerable.

Even when I'm here alone, I still jump up to get to the counter to let my mom know I'm hungry and want to eat. It's the next best thing to eating at a table, anyway.

morning interrupted

My morning starts by getting up around 6 AM, going outside, eating a few nibbles of food because my food is boring, then going back to sleep on Motch's lap as she drinks her morning coffee.

When she gets up to take her shower, I continue sleeping on the couch until she is dressed and ready for work, at which time I go to the kitchen to get nibbles of better food like CHEESE!

Today, I was sleeping when all of a sudden a VERY LOUD NOISE made me jump off of her lap. It was coming from the boy's room upstairs. I'm used to hearing his music each morning because he can't get up until it sings to him, but today's music sounded like the 4th of July and made me shake. For a moment I looked up the stairs to his bedroom and was tempted to see if he was under attack and needed some help, but I quickly came to my senses.

Instead, I followed Motch into the bathroom and waited patiently until she got out of the shower. At her urging, I cautiously made my way back to the bedroom...and did what was necessary to calm my nerves.

name game

I'm just a little grumpy today. Motch took the day off work and she was supposed to devote the day to meeting my every desire, but she took a benedryl when she got up because her ears are clogged and she's trying everything she can think of to get them to open. Things were fine until 10 AM, and then she looked like she got hit by a truck. I don't know if the pills opened her ears but they sure shut her eyes, and I was very bored today.

The Puppies tagged me to play the name game, and I made Motch get right on it. I had some great answers which I think she mis-typed due to her sluggish state of mind. But here goes.

What is your name? Petra. Just plain Petra. I get called different names, though, and the most common ones are Aunt Pittypat (by Hannah and Leah), Petra Pot Pie, and Sweet P.

If you could change your name, what would it be? Jellybean

What is your pet's name? Well, if a pet is someone that you like alot, like "teacher's pet", then that would be Fig and Tad.

If you could change your pet's name, what would it be? Tad would be Stringbean and Fig would be Popeye.

What are your brothers and sister's names? Hannah, Leah and Josiah.

If you could change their names, what would they be? Hannah would be Marshwiggle, Leah would be Reepicheep and Josiah would be Lou Pinella.

I'm tagging my new friend Bobo (isn't that a great name?). He just started blogging, and I'll bet he will have some great answers.

hot and humid saturday

It's very hot and humid here today in central Illinois, but I've been told that's what makes the corn grow. However, it also makes my naps on the deck very short ones, so I'm alittle perturbed about that.
My dad went fishing and my mom is watching the Cubs, so I was forced to entertain myself. The shoe tasted good for the short time I had it. If I had just stayed in the bedroom, I wouldn't have been caught.
Life is too short to sweat the small stuff, though, so I gave up the shoe without a protest in exchange for this little bone.

I hope you're all staying cool and enjoying your Saturday!
