vacation story III

Are you ready for more? This was taken on the way to the Golan Heights, looking into Jordan from Israel. And this is the Jordan River at Mt. Hermon, the highest mountain in Israel.
The ruins of Beth Shean, a Roman city, was discovered when a farmer was on his tractor and hit something, which turned out to be a pillar.
Here is the theatre, and everything was set up for a concert.
Motch and PA never lacked for food!
Or shopping! In the Old City of Jerusalem, there were very unique shops.
The Mediterranean Sea in Caesarea was beautiful. And so was the pool at their hotel in Jordan. The front had a sandy bottom which opened to a cement floor, and the Dead Sea backed up to it.

Only one more day of pictures, and I'm saving the best for last!

vacation story II

When I saw Motch's pictures I said, "Oh my dog, these are my favorites!"There are animals in that faraway land! There was a donkey in the desert. In Nazareth, there were sheep sitting under an olive tree. They're pretty smart because they knew where to find shade on a hot day.
My Aunt Kay became friends with a lion in Jerusalem
Aren't these school kids cute?
Horse and carriage in Tiberias! Woo!
OK, Motch threw this in and it's not funny. That poor fish was swimming in the Sea of Galilee before the picture was taken.
My cousin rode a horse into....drum roll please...... PETRA! The pictures of PETRA are, of course, my very most favorite.
In the midst of all the activity, a dog was taking a nap. There were lots of people running around PETRA,which is one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world, so I kept a watchful eye over my sleeping friend.
If you can take your eyes off of this lovely photo, you'll see a little kitty above my head.
Motch, her cousin, and me (in her pocket), took a camel ride. It was bumpy but lots of fun.

OK, that's enough pictures for today. Thanks for looking!

vacation story part I

Can you see me? The boy decided to wait until the day that Motch and PA got home from their trip to mow the lawn.Walking through grass that had been growing for two weeks was hard.

But life is returning to normal now that Motch and PA are back from their trip. Motch took about 500 pictures and I promise that I won't bore you will all of them, but I'll show you some of my favorites in the next few days.
El Al Airlines carried them from NYC to Tel Aviv, and since Motch doesn't sleep on airplanes, she wandered around becoming familiar with her new surroundings. She didn't jump when the toilet flushed. And she learned what to do in case of emergencies.
When the plane finally landed at Ben Gurion Airport, she was ready to roll and see the sights.
IDF soldiers were everywhere, and they didn't mind posing for pictures.Old buildings were everywhere, too, and lots and lots of rocks.
Pomegrantes were ripe, and they reminded Motch of Tadpole. She picked one of these, but it wasn't as soft as Tad. She said fresh figs were some of her favorite things to eat.
And in the Old City of Jerusalem, guess what she saw? A hostel named Petra! Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Leah was wearing me out. She kept me so busy that I didn't miss Motch or PA for a minute!

another update during motch's vacation

Hello, Friends! Sorry that I haven't posted in such a long time. I was hoping to update more often that this... But I've been keeping busy around here. Fig and Tad have visited me quite a few times, and while Tad isn't usually one to play in ferocious Boston Terrier games, Fig has stepped up to the challenge.

video
(If you listen real hard, you can hear ME growling too! This took me a long time to learn, and we can all thank Fig for showing me how to sound mean and scary!)

Look who ultimately won!

Woo Hoo!

I've also been eating a lot of bones lately. Leah says it keeps me busy when she's trying to work on boring school stuff and Fig and Tad aren't around to amuse me.
At least Mr. Raccoon is always around to play with!

That's all for now. I'll leave you with some sleepy pictures. Hope everyone has a nice relaxing weekend. Motch gets back Tuesday night, so I'll be back to normal Wednesday or Thursday!

what i've been up to...

PS: I want to remind everyone that Motch is out of the country, so I'm not really visiting other dogs' blogs. Sorry! My current guardian is refusing to cooperate. But I guess that's fine, as long as she keeps giving me plenty of treats and bones and lets me sleep on her lap as much as possible. Rest assured, in a week and half I'll be back to doing my rounds!

fig & tad

My niece and nephew (Fig and Tad) came to visit me tonight! Unfortunately they weren't in a very playful mood...

Notice how I lick inside Fig's ears. Isn't that sick?! But I LOVE to do it!!!

rainy day

Well Motch made it safely to Israel. Unfortunately it rained ALL DAY on my first full day with Leah.
Want to know how I go to the bathroom while it's raining? Here's a video to show you:

video

That's right -- I don't! I start to venture out there but then I feel the yucky, cold, wet stuff so I turn and run back to safety, and do it over and over again until I get distracted by something in the garage, which, by the way, is filled with glorious treasures.

It's so much fun to eat bugs and pieces of trash, lick the grease off the grill, and taste onions (which, for some inexplicable reason are laying around...?).

Just look at that horrendous rain!

But I'm thankful that's it's only a little rain and nothing serious. We hope everydog in the path of the hurricane/s stays safe and dry!!

vacation is coming

First of all, I'd like to complain about my bug bite. I still can't wear my new collar from Stella because it touches my bite and makes me scratch my neck. Can you see it right by my beautiful swirly colic? Motch was thinking of taking me to the v-e-t today to make sure it's nothing more than a bug bite because she's leaving on Wednesday and doesn't want Leah to worry about this while she's gone, but she's not sure if I need to go. What do you think?
Next item of concern is my Cubbies. I actually agreed to wear this jersey for about 15 minutes as a good luck charm to help them win yesterday.
But alas! It didn't help as Woody gave it away in the 9th. However, if they had won because I was wearing this jersey, I might be in trouble because I hate clothes and I might be forced to wear this during every future Cubs game. ..RIGHT INTO THE PLAYOFFS!
The best news is that Leah is coming on Wednesday and is staying for 2 weeks while Motch and PA fly across the ocean to a little tiny land known as Israel. While they're riding camels likeMJ's dad, I'll be helping Leah write her thesis and grade papers and drink lattes.
She can listen to me snore and whine and chirp for two glorious weeks! Wooooo!
Finally, I'd like to thank Nottie Scottie for this award. Maybe it will keep pressure on Leah to blog for me every now and then while Motch is gone. And because she is so precious to me, I'm passing on this award to my sister Leah.

sleepy sunday

I'm glad I didn't totally decapitate my loofa dog and that Motch sewed his head back on him.
He is great company when I take my sunday afternoon naps.I hope you're all having a great weekend!
