basketball

Did you know that March is a mad month? It is at our house, anyway. Motch watches TV & gets mad because she picked wrong teams to win basketball games.

I tried to cheer her up by destroying her bracket paper, but she grabbed it before I got far.She needs to turn the channel and watch the Cubs.

totally hip

I humbly accept this totally hip blogger award from my friend Mack. Thank you, sir! And I am passing it on to my hip friends Patches & Sparky and Fleas Gang.

Here is a video showing you my newest obsession. When I stand as close to the drawer as possible and say "abracadabra", magical things happen!

tad turns two!

My nephewTadpole had a birthday and now he's 2! I made him a beautiful card, read it to him, and then gave him a present.

It was packaged just right; there were 3 bones in it. And Tad is so selfless! He insisted on sharing his bones with us to help him celebrate his special day.

Tad had one,
I had one,
and Fig had one.Happy Birthday, 2-year-old Tadpole Pomegranate!

new heights

I'm 8 months old now and I weigh 12 pounds and stand 12 inches tall (from my feet to my back). I usually use my height to my advantage but at times it causes problems, like when I want to get on and off the bed. I can't do it! This puts me at a disadvantage when Tad comes over because he jumps on the bed to get away from me. WHY he wants to avoid me is something I'll never understand because I am so much fun to play with.

32 - 12 = 20. I need some help getting from here to there. I thought of joining the track team so I could learn to high jump, but decided on another option.

It works!

restrained

First she tied me up outside, then the boy stuffed me inside of his sweatshirt.

I'm speechless.

the drama and the trauma

Motch has a problem. She doesn't like me wandering off to the neighbor's yard when I go outside. "Petra," she said, "this will help you stay out of trouble."

I thought she might have a treat in her hand. But no! She took her hand and tied me to the rope!

Lights, camera, action! Whee! I broke free!

An appropriate ending, wouldn't you say?

Joey Palooza

Happy Joey Palooza, my friend! Just look at that happy face!
To celebrate Joey's birthday, Motch gave Fig and me bones. We only get these treats when Tad isn't around, because he can only eat carrots and he cries if he can't have a bone, too. Sometimes Leah brings Fig to see me while Tad stays home with Massah. Don't you think Fig's smile looks like Joe's?
I open wide to get a good grasp on this delicacy.
They make me smile, too. Many more happy birthdays to you, Joe!

sweet as sugar

Thank you, Lady Kaos, for this Sweet as Sugar Award!
I got dressed up to accept this award! How do I look? (Notice there's no video because my feet are planted; I am NOT moving.)
Back to business: I intend to print this award and put it on Motch's pillow because when she goes to bed, she needs to be reminded that I am Petra Sweet Sugar Pot Pie. I've convinced her that I need a bone to chew before I retire for the night. And I'm proud of that. It didn't take too long to get that mission accomplished.

However, I am in the process of convincing her that I need TWO, yes 2, not just one but TWO bones because one disappears too fast. So I chirp and I whine and I scratch and I try to bark. And she gets very annoyed at me.
Pay attention, Motch. Read the Award. I am as sweet as sugar.

And now I pass along this award to my friend Girl Girl Hampster because she's so little & sweet (and she lives with a monster!).

fun while it lasted

Fig has so much more experience than I! We were playing one night, chasing this slipper toy and nobody was paying attention to us. And then Figgy showed me that this toy has multiple purposes: it could also be opened up and devoured. Oh my dog the stuffing tasted so good! The squeaker was even better!
Fig said someone was coming & she took off. I followed her.

What? What's wrong? Is there a problem?
