denounced!

Did you read what she said on my last blog? This is it: yeah, why AM i an "in-law"?! i hereby denounce my "in-law" title.
So it is my pleasure to introduce you to my sister...LEAH! Formerly known as Massah-in-law. From what I understand, and remember --- I am still a pup --- Massah (Hannah) started referring to Leah as m.i.l. when she started blogging. (Ask Fig or Tadpole why she came up with that name.)

But Leah has spoken and I have heard. Henceforth and forevermore, her name is Leah.

I do pay attention when she speaks because she shares her stuffies with me. And I have my eye on the one she is holding in this picture.

However, Tad was over the other day and we had a great time with a pair of socks. Behold, Tapole is actually PLAYING with ME!

the boy

Tadpole wrote about the boy who sent Massah flowers on Valentine's Day and some of you don't know who he is. He lives at my house. He's really my brother and Massah is my sister and Massah-in-law is my other sister and Fig is my niece and Tad is my nephew. (Keep that in mind because I just might quiz you later; it's such important information.)

My brother boy lives in a gated community and I'm locked out of it. On occasion, Motch gets tired of my chirping and lets me go visit. I LOVE to go because his room is filled with food and clothes and books and garbage and all kinds of wonderful surprises. On my last visit, I found his ipod stringies very fun to chew.

Tad was a little hesitant amongst the abundance of treasures and Fig got bored, but I had a marvelous time.

forgiven

Do you see this? It's a bone, just for me, that Motch brought back from her trip. She must have felt guilty for snuggling up to the dog at the pet store.I wasn't sure what to do because I've never had anything like this before. All I get are little bitty doggie treats when I potty outside or carrots (thanks to Tad).I had to make sure it was safe to eat and that there were no hidden red chili peppers in it. If this is what happens when Motch loves on other dogs, Motchie, press on!

immobile

Brrr.....it's still way too cold here. We got snow yesterday and may have freezing rain with more snow tonight. Motch bought this little coat for Tadpole but it didn't fit him, so now it's mine. Can you believe she thought she'd get me to walk in this straitjacket, let alone go outside and potty?

Crazy Motchie!

sneezes

Last night Motch gave me a bone to chew because some friends came over. You see, if I chew on shoestrings and jump on laps and try to steal purses, I get rewarded by what I really want: a bone.

So last night Motch gave me a really big one and it kept me occupied and out of trouble for a long time. About half an hour later, I started sneezing. I sneezed and sneezed and sneezed for about 10 minutes. Motch was ready to call the v.e.t. but I was breathing so she didn't. She is really not good at knowing how to help me in times of crisis. Anyway, the sneezing attack ended and I'm feeling better today.

Has this ever happened to any of you?

disturbed

So Leah and Motch went to New Mexico so Leah could present a paper she wrote about some guy who thought his book would be done as a play but it never happened and she explained why in her paper. Motch said she did a good job and she even understood some of the papers that other people presented (a real accomplishment for Motch who isn't a scholar).
I can understand that they needed some time to unwind after the conference and so they visited Old town. Leah wrote more about that.

They ate New Mexican food and said it was hot!
And they shopped at lots of stores. Okay, fine, that's always fun.

But what is this? They smooched up to another dog at a pet store! Who cares if he is 5 years old and was rescued just last month and is already so nice he can go to work with his mom every day? Huh? Who cares about that?

After getting up at 4 AM every day for 3 days in a row and behaving my very best for PA, only chirping when absolutely necessary, what happens? Motch leaves and brings back pictures of another dog. What kind of thanks is that?

what next?

I had so much fun with Leah! She didn't wake me up early in the morning and she let me stay up late at night. The first night Motch was back, we were in bed and she turned off the lights and wanted to go to sleep. Only one problem there: she forgot to give me my bone. I had Leah convinced that the only way for me to settle down at night was to give me a bone to chew for my bedtime snack. I cried (ok, yes, you all know by now that my cry is really a chirp) and begged but she stood firm and wouldn't let me have my bone.

I guess my vacation is over.

Tonight Motch is leaving again for a few days. She's going with Leah to Albuquerque to listen to Leah read a paper at a conference. This time I'll be left with P.A. and he won't let me sleep in. He leaves our house at 5 AM to get to work, which means he'll wake me up around 4 AM. It's a good thing he won't be blogging because all you would hear from me is complaints.

I KNOW my vacation is over.

Vacation Blahs

Ever have one of those days when you poo in the dining room, refuse to eat your food, and are just sick of everything? You either feel like this:

Or like this:

Well today is one of those days. I'm going back to sleep.

Vacation, Part IV

Now that I can't play with Fig for the next couple of days, this is what I've been doing to keep myself busy...

KILLING KIWIS WITH GIANT JAWS OF DEATH!

PLAYING WITH SCISSORS AND OTHER SHARP AND DANGEROUS OBJECTS!

and last, but certainly not least, since this is what irritates Leah more than anything else...

EATING PENS!

Who cares about taking notes on a book about 19th century American Melodrama?! THAT PEN IS MOVING! I have to attack! Repeatedly! Until Leah gives up and gives me a bone instead.

By the way, I must apologize for not keeping up with anyone else's blog. Motch usually helps me do this when she's at work. (I'm not sure how that works, but just go with it....) So since she's on vacation this week and most of next week it'll be a while before I can check up on everydog. Hope you're all fantastically well!

Vacation, Part III

Well I have some sad news. I am no longer allowed to play with Fig. She has PINK EYE. At first everyone thought that I just scratched her eye when we were playing, since that's happened quite a few times. (We play a little rough around here) You can kinda see her PINK EYE in this picture that I posted a couple days ago:

Anyway she had to go to the V.E.T. tonight and they gave her medicine and lots of treats and GUESS WHAT?! They said that other dogs can catch it! So the hoomans are keeping us apart! I am SO SAD I can't play with my best friend during my vacation. I sure hope her eye stops being pink pretty soon. And I don't believe in this whole "contagious" idea. If I was going to get the PINK EYE, don't you think it would have happened when we were doing this?

Well... LOOK! No pink here!

(Let's hope it stays that way!)

Vacation, Part II

Here is an example of what happens at night... I chirp to get on the bed and chirp to get off. I am tired but I don't want to sleep. I don't know what I want so I just make myself as obnoxious as possible so Leah stops reading and pays attention to me. (By the way, I am glad to see that I am not alone in my chirpage, as the lovely Ruby has confessed to a similar noise-making tactic.) My chirps are mixed with the occasional huff (in honor of Fig, who has been called Hufflepuff for her constant snorts of disgust). Leah didn't get a video of me chirping (yet), but she did manage to get a little huff.

After chirping, huffing, and running around the room for quite a while, she finally gave me a bone.

She's starting to catch on. WAIT! I INTERRUPT THIS BLOG TO GIVE YOU THIS VIDEO, TAKEN 2 SECONDS AGO, OF ME CHIRPING!

Anyway, on to more important things. Guess what tomorrow is?! SUPER TUESDAY!!!!!! WOOOOOOO! We're excited over here in Illinois, even though we know not all states (or countries, sorry Lorenza & Luckie & everyone else not caught in this mess!) can vote tomorrow. But for everyone who can, you know what to do.

GO VOTE!

Vacation, Part I

While the parents are away, it's time for the dogs to PLAY! You know what that means! A little of this...

And a little of this...

But not enough of this...

Which leads me to the question: What, I ask you, WHAT is wrong with waking up at 4AM?! Evidently my schedule is not exactly to Leah's liking. Well TOO BAD because this is the way things are run around here:

4am: WAKE UP!
6am: FEED ME!
6:05am-9am: PLAY PLAY PLAY!
9am: Nap

You know what happens when people try to sleep until 9am?! ANARCHY! So I do my best to make weird annoying chirping noises (I'm too polite to bark), jump on and off the hooman's body, and lick the hooman's nose until she finally realizes that she's in my house now & gets her lazy butt outta bed! We only have one week to party! We can't afford to sleep all day! Now who's with me?!
