busy busy

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BOY!We celebrated last night, and all I've got to say is that Fig took matters into her own hands to make sure she was happy on his special day. Tadpole and I were thoroughly impressed.
Grammy couldn't come to the party because she's not feeling well. She has spinal stenosis and her lower back is causing her so much pain that she can't walk without a walker and is on pain meds 24/7. She is having back surgery tomorrow, so please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. I hope she gets well soon so I can play with her and chew the giant rawhide that's waiting for me at her house.
Motch's grandpa and grandma were born in Switzerland and sailed across the ocean to come live in America. My grandpa (Motch's dad) always wanted to go there to visit but never made it. So guess who is going instead? Motch and P.A.! I'm not as lucky as Asta, who got to go to Rome; I have to stay home, but I can't complain because....
LEAH IS STAYING WITH ME! I'm going to be a good girl for her and not bother her too much and let her sleep till noon and not beg for treats or whine or complain when she ignores me and sleep under the covers on top of her at night and give her a zillion kisses and let her take me on walks and all kinds of other stuff. Wooooo!

bouncing along

A new ball to play with!

Notice how quickly I pull the squeaker out of the ball and spit it on the rug.

Oh happy day!

nightly walk

About 7 PM, I get to go on my nightly walk. We walk on the path in the golf course behind my house because by that time, the golfers are gone.
If we go too early, I might get hit by a white flying ball, and that would be bad.
It usually takes half an hour to make the big loop, but here is where we start.
This is our first stop on hot days because I can rest in the shade. You can tell it's hot because my head is drooping like a wilted flower.
Sometimes I find bugs to eat at this rest stop. Protein helps keep my energy level up for these stenuous walks.
And when the golfers aren't looking, I can sneak a cool, refreshing drink of water.
It tastes mighty good on a hot day.
And then I'm ready to go again! Last night the Cubs were playing so I didn't get to take a long walk; instead, I had to take a shortcut. That means we make the loop shorter by walking on the sidewalk back to my house instead of walking on the golf course.
The best thing about the shortcut is that I can check my peemail on the way home. I love summer and walkies!

frolicking in the yard

We planted some flowers and a plant in our yard last weekend. Come with me and I"ll show you, but hang onto your hats because this will be quick. Ready...set...GO!
This is a burning bush that will grow to be bigger than me but for now it's little and has to wear a cage so the rabbits don't eat it. That's me in the right corner, moving to the next object of interest.
This is a moonbeam coreopsis flower that Motch likes and it will produce these yellow flowers all summer long.
OK, that's it! We're done; let's get outa here!
Hahahaha! This is so much fun!
And I'm such a good girl.

Just checking in to say hi! I hope you're enjoying the weekend. I'm watching the Cubs lose right now. After that, I hope to go for a walk to relieve the stress.

scruffy dog collar

Whoopeeeeee! A package came in the mail for ME, Miss Petra Pot Pie! Tibby and her mom are making collars, so I decided I needed a couple. It took awhile to figure out the fabric I wanted because there are so many to choose from, but I knew for sure that I wanted a pink clasp.
I really wanted to play with the collars because they are one of my favorite chew toys, but this little tuggie game didn't last long.
While PA adjusted the length, I did a little dance and tried to help.
And then I held still and was very quiet while he put it on. That was hard work, but I did a good job and got a treat afterwards.
What do you think? How do I look in this collar?
And this one? They are pretty snazzy, aren't they? Check out Tibby's collars yourselves; you'll be glad you did!

the yogurt experiment

So it was time to eat again and the food was put on the floor. Dull, dry, boring kibbles.I didn't know how I could make it more plain to Motch that I don't like this stuff! After a few minutes of standing like a statue, Motch remembered your advice on how to spruce up the kibbles, so she took my bowl and went to the refrigerator.

I'm telling you, the food looked like an ice cream sundae with that white, lush yogurt running all over, under and through the kibbles. One bite and I was hooked!

It was so good...to the very last slurp!

Thanks so much for the suggestion, pals. I'll never eat plain kibbles again!

LOST MY FRIENDS!

I can't believe this. Motch was messing around with my blog and accidently deleted my friends list. I will patiently wait while she tries to correct the problem. Geesch!

friday!

It's Friday, which means the weekend is almost here! That also means I'll have more time to be outside and soak up the sun.
Time to wander around the yard and supplement my diet with fiber.
You all know how I feel about my kibble, but grass is another story, and I LOVE it!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

yucky food

I'm really not a picky eater, it's just that I don't like my kibbles. Sam's Yams and treats and carrots and peanut butter make me happy.
When Fig and Tad come over, I immediately eat the food in my dish because if I don't, they will. Occasionally my dish is moved to the living room because a change in scenery sometimes helps improve my appetite.
Yesterday I had a picnic on my deck, just to see if the food tasted better outside.
And it didn't. Eating outside calls for wallymellon and frosty paws, certainly not kibbles! Yuck.
